This is a caterpillar taking a siesta on a dill plant in our yard. Can you guess what kind it is? I apologize that it’s kind of blurry. (Hint: it’s either a young Black Swallowtail or a Monarch and both are pictured below enjoying flowers in our yard). A coworker, who runs Naturally Wild, brought to my attention that there is a Monarch Festival in Minneapolis on Saturday, September 10, 2011. If you want to know more about Monarchs, she will be there with many others who enjoy creating habitats for them on their yearly migrations.
