Ooh, Ahh, and Ohh!

After doing some chores around the yard I thought I’d snap some pictures of other plants in bloom besides the tulips. We want to arrange our plants to go off like a fireworks display through the seasons, but as we’ve only had the home for a few years it’s going to take time to build up those areas of ooh, ahh, and ohh.

Here are some other plants starting to shine now. One is a nearly neon yellow Euphorbia (picked up for a quarter at an end of season sale at Menards). Three of the five seem to have survived, but at that price we’re not complaining. The second is a flowering sedum in a corner of our rock garden. The third is a cute blue brunnera macrophylla that I bought last summer from a co-worker who runs her own business, Naturally Wild. She specializes in native Minnesota prairie and woodland wildflowers.
